September 26, 2018 – Fall Bazaar & Quilt Raffle
The Friends of the Library‘s Fall Bazaar & Quilt Raffle is this Saturday, September 29th, 9 AM to Noon. Get your raffle tickets for $1 each and have a chance at winning the quilt made and donated by Sharon Wrege. There are many other donated prizes from local crafters, businesses, and library supporters. Prize total as of 9/25 is 40! Tickets are available at the library and from Friends members. Refreshments will be served. Baked goods, used books, odds & ends and felt ornaments made by Terry Jokinen will be on sale. New this year: Story Hour with crafts for the kids and young at heart. Stop by at 9:30 to listen to a story being read and then enjoy painting on rocks with Terry Jokinen. The drawing begins at Noon with Sharon Wrege’s quilt.
Library School Storytime meets on Thursday mornings at 9 AM through October. We share a story, song, rhyme, and make a craft project. All children are welcome to attend with an adult caregiver. This week we’ll be reading, “Bear Sees Colors” by Karma Wilson & Jane Chapman.
Thursday, September 27th at 7 PM we will be painting rocks. Bring smooth rocks and your imagination. We will have paint, brushes, Mod Podge, and a variety of ideas to spark your creativity. This will be in conjunction with Conversation & Crafts.
The Friends of the Library‘s Used Book Sale shelves are overflowing! Fill a paper bag for $2, fill a plastic bag for $1, hardcover books are 25 cents, paperback books are 10 cents, CDs and DVDs are 50 cents, and magazines are free. No additional donations of books, magazines, or puzzles are being taken at this time.
The next acrylic painting class will be on Saturday, October 13th at 7 PM. We’ll be following along on YouTube with the Art Sherpa, Cinnamon Cooney and painting a pumpkin. Call (715)274-8331 or stop by the library to register. Class size is limited to 7.
