Winter Bouquet in Summer 8/17/2022
Get your Summer Reading points in. You have until August 31st. The drawing for $50 will be at the Friends of the Library’s meeting on Thursday, September 1st at 6 pm.
The Friends of the Library Quilt Raffle will be held on Saturday, September 24th. The ‘Winter Bouquet’ quilt made by Carol Noth is on display at the library. You may also view it on our Facebook page and website. Tickets are available at the library for $1 each.
Are you interested in chatting about books with other book lovers? Consider joining one of our Library Book Clubs. One meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 6 pm and the other meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 9 am. Books are borrowed through interlibrary loan, so there is no need to purchase the titles being discussed. Just let us know of your interest and we’ll place a book on hold for you. Bookmarks for each club with their list of titles are now available at the library. Or check out our website’s Book Club page for titles. Click on the book cover from this page and it will bring you to a description of the book from the Catalog.
Beginning September 1st, the library will begin a “Patch Program”. Presently we have bags to hand out until gone, one per child 5th Grade & under. Kids may read what they like, earn 50 reading points (just like summer reading), and then choose a patch to attach to their bag. No bag or really don’t need one more bag? How about adding that patch to a hat, backpack, or jacket.
Library School Storytime will begin the first Thursday in October at 9 am. It will run October 6 – December 1 (no Storytime on Thanksgiving). Storytime is planned for 3-year-olds to attend with an adult caregiver. Other children are welcome to attend and participate as they wish or are able. Storytime consists of singing, rhymes, simple crafts, and a storybook. Let us know if you’re interested. Also please share with your friends & neighbors. You are our best advocates and advertisers. Until then . . . Why not start a 1000 Books Before Kindergarten journey. Pick up the details at the library and get started today.
Books on being ordered this week. Be on the lookout for new books as we start a new school year. It sure is coming fast!
