Thank You! & Stay Tuned

Author Nick VanderPuy was here last week to talk about his book, “Water Protectors, The H.E.L.P. Campaign to Save the Penokees”.  The library and the Friends of the Library so appreciate the time that Nick took to visit and talk with us.  Thank you one and all who took the time to stop in and listen and ask questions.  The library vision statement reads, “To honor our history, to learn of today, to inspire for tomorrow”.  We hope that through offering a place for authors to share their work and the community to gather, listen, and question our vision comes to life.  Building a better community through communication and the sharing of ideas. Stop by and visit with us.

The Friends of the Library’s Used Book Sale continues.  With a recommendation of “fill a bag for $1” or donate as you wish.  Stop by and see what’s available. The sale includes, books, audio books on CD, and DVDs.

The Acrylic Painters will meet this Friday at 12:30 & 6:30 pm.  Contact the library to save a spot and receive a list of supplies. We’re going to paint along to “Easy Cat with Lemons Pop Art Style” with Cinnamon Cooney, The Art Sherpa.

A Friends Fundraiser Celebration is being planned for Saturday, March 18th at 6 pm.  All are welcome to attend.  The Library opened on March 11, 1927, and welcomed people to our new home on March 22, 2010.  This celebration will include a cheesecake auction and raffle.  Stay tuned for more details.

New books and DVDs were added last week.  Let us know what you’re interested in.
