Snowflakes

Snowflakes and Caldecott Snow Books
Each month staff member Cheryl Hamm puts together a Take & Make craft. This month it is a snowflake lacing project. Stop by and pick one up to complete with your child, grandchild, or any little ones visiting you this holiday season. We also have many lovely books to choose from to share before or after your craft time. Learn more about snowflakes with, “Snowflake Bentley” by Jacqueline Briggs and Caldecott winning illustrator Mary Azarian. Or choose from these Caldecott winners about snow “The Big Snow” authored & illustrated by Berta & Elmer Hader or “White Snow Bright Snow by Alvin Tresselt and winner Roger Duvoisin. Challenge your little ones to a book treasure hunt. See if they can find 5 books with snow on the cover. Or make your own book cover challenge. Help them learn how to use or review what they’ve been learning on their class visits by using a browsing stick on your treasure hunt.
Join us on Monday, December 30th at 10am to watch “Wild Robot”, based on the series of books by Peter Brown. The library will supply popcorn, and kids will be entered into a drawing for the new Dave Pilkey book, “Dog Man, Big Jim Begins”. You are welcome to bring your own comfortable chair, snacks and a beverage. Enjoy the movie with friends & family.
Acrylic painters will be meeting on December 27th to follow along online with Michelle the Painter to create a “Christmas Gnome”. Due to our limited space, we encourage you to register by stopping at or calling the library. You’ll then receive a supply list for December’s painting.
The library will be closed on December 24 and 25. The library will also be closed on December 31 and January 1.
Stop by and pick up a nice stack of books and DVDs to carry you through the holidays ahead.
