November 27 – Thank You, Sue!

Join us in wishing Sue MacArthur, “Best Wishes!” as she retires and begins a new chapter on Wednesday, November 27th 2-5 PM.  We’ll be serving cake.
Legion Memorial Library‘s Board of Trustees, Friends of Our Wonderful Library/FOWL, and staff are very grateful to our many volunteers, patrons and supporters.  It is through your generosity that we continue to offer books and dvds for checkout, programming for young and old, and a place to gather and share ideas.  “Thank You!” and “Happy Thanksgiving!”
Please note:  The Library will be closed on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th and open on Saturday from 9 AM – Noon.
Wednesday, December 4th at 1:30 PM the Library will be showing the movie, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, starring Jim Carrey.  Stop in and enjoy the movie with us.  We’ll have popcorn and you are welcome to bring your own additional snacks and beverage.
Due to inclement weather and poor road conditions Storytime was cancelled last week.  A makeup date has be scheduled for Thursday, December 5th at 9 AM before they take a break for the Holidays.  The theme of the day will center around the book, “Up, Down & Around” by Katherine Ayres.  Programs are planned for three year olds to attend with an adult caregiver, but older and younger children are welcome to attend.  We’ll be using fabric paint and vegetables to create a one of a kind dish towel for each child to take home.  Plan for painting.
Guess who’s coming to town?!?  The Mellen Lions & Lioness Clubs have invited Santa & Mrs. Claus to visit the Library on Saturday, December 7th, 1-3 PM.  You are welcome to bring your wish lists and cameras.  The Clauses are looking forward to seeing all the children!  The Lions Club will again host a drawing for a bicycle.  Hope you’ll join in the holiday fun.
