New Hours at the Library 11/2/2022
New hours at the library beginning Wednesday, November 9th – The library will open at 9 am and close at 5 pm Monday through Thursday. We will continue our Friday & Saturday hours 9 am to Noon. We look forward to seeing you early at the Library!
BOOK REVIEW: THE BOY, THE MOLE, THE FOX, AND THE HORSE by Charlie Mackesy My first reaction was that this book was awfully thin to be in an adult NONFICTION library section and deserved a look….just because of that. The author used a cursive text and engaging pen and ink drawings with watercolor sometimes added. Only four characters are in this short story. They appear on the pages in the same order as they do in the title. The four form a group, but still keep their own individuality. The book can be read in one sitting. This picture book was a memorable read and I will be rereading it often! By T.T.
Our next acrylic painting sessions will be on Friday, November 11th at 12:30 or 6:30 pm. We will be following along with The Art Sherpa’s work, “Pumpkin Spice Candle”. This is a longer video, 1:52:21 and is rated ‘3 Hoots’, so please plan accordingly. Call or stop by the library to register and receive a supply list.
Library director, Jennie Thewis, will be attending the Wisconsin Library Association conference this week. I look forward to sharing my notes about the event in the coming weeks.
Kids Cozy Corner notes: A new Take & Make craft is available for the month of November. Stop by the library and check out our selection of new children’s books including the graphic novel series on display this week: “Click” by Kayla Miller and Emmie & Friends by Terri Libenson. You’ll find other graphic novels on our bright yellow cart.
I’ve been trying out the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten app. It is pretty neat, and you may scan the book’s ISBN to log your titles. Quick & easy. Paper logs are also available at the library.
Happy Reading!
