“Unearth a Story” is this year’s Summer Reading theme. We will be hosting a reading challenge, kids vs. adults. Each team will need a mascot. Stop by the library to vote for your choice. The team mascots will be announced on Monday, June 1st. This is also the first day to record your reading points. Earning 50 reading points will get you a medal. You may register for the Summer Reading Challenge now. Check out books now and read. Then record your reading points on June 1st. You may also register for the Summer Reading Book Club. The first book will be “Remarkable Creatures” by Tracy Chevalier. Books will be ordered through interlibrary loan. You do not need to purchase books. You may also sign up for programming events. This helps us plan and prepare materials.
The Bellringer Run will be held on the 4th of July. It will consist of a 2-mile fun run which will start at 8:30am. $100 sponsorships are arriving, and the Friends of the Library are so thankful for your support. Sponsors names are printed on the back of the Bellringer t-shirt each year. We are accepting sponsorships through the month of May. Paper registration forms are available from the library. We hope to have online registration available by Friday, May 22nd. Please be sure to use links for registration from the Legion Memorial Library’s website or Facebook page or “Mellen Bellringer” Facebook page. Information provided from other sites may not be accurate. Prices remain the same as last year’s. For the lowest price register prior to June 1. Prices go up $5 on June 1st.
