May 15 – Antique Tractor Show

The Antique Tractor Show will be on Friday, May 31st. Tractors will be on display 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the Library. Then at 10:30, they will parade to Mellen Manor and return to the Library and be on display until 2 PM. This year we’ve added a Color a Tractor Picture and return to Library for an entry into a drawing (not a coloring contest). All returned entries will be entered into a drawing. We’ll have prizes for 3 different age categories. Thewis Valley View Farm will be bringing a calf and the Chequamegon Dairy Association will be providing dairy treats.

Both our Book Clubs have wrapped up their meetings for the school year and are now looking forward to the Summer Reading Book Club. The selections for this summer are: Miracle at Augusta by James Patterson, The Martian by Andy Weir, and Long-Shining Waters by Danielle Sosin. If you’re interested in joining us for any or all of the summer reading discussions call or visit the library to sign-up.

There will be no Conversation & Crafts this week, Thursday the 16th. Next week on the 23rd we’ll meet at 6 PM to create Button Bouquets. Then at 7 PM we’ll watch, “Isn’t It Romantic” starring Rebel Wilson. You are welcome to join us for either or both events. You may bring your own comfortable camp chair, beverage, and snacks. The library will provide popcorn.

Check out the Bellringer Run website for updates at mellenbellringer.org. Registration forms will soon be available in print and online. Prices will remain the same. Both races will once again begin at 8:30. Sponsorships are available for the run at $100 a piece. Your business, club, or organizational name will appear on the back of the 2019 t-shirt.
