Last Week of Summer Reading, 8/25/2021
One more week left to enter the Summer Reading Drawing for $50! Read 5 books for a Bingo and enter the drawing. It is open to all ages. Deadline to enter is August 31st. The drawing will take place on September 1st. The first day of school.
There are a variety of ‘back to school’ and autumn themed books on display at the library. Stop by to check them out. There are also a few circle flower crafts left to ‘take & make’.
The Friends of the Library’s Quilt Raffle will be held on Saturday, September 25th. Raffle tickets are available for $1 from the library where the quilt, “Pinwheels & Whirlygigs” made by Carol Noth is on display.
Anyone interested in knitting or crocheting for a community cause? Share your thoughts and ideas and we’ll get started next month. Some past projects include chemo caps, lap blankets, newborn hats, sweaters, prayer shawls, and angel blankets.
Adult Book Clubs will begin in September. Please note changes in dates & times. What Kind of Book Club Is This?!?! will meet the 2nd Monday of the month at 6 pm. Their first meeting will be on the 13th to discuss, “This Tender Land” by William Kent Krueger. The Morning Book Club will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 9 am. Their first meeting will be on the 15th to discuss, “Resistance Women” by Jennifer Chiaverini. Contact the library if you wish to join us for either club. The library borrows books through inter-library loan, so there is no need to purchase books.
The Library Board of Trustees will meet next Tuesday, August 31st at 5:30 pm.
