Large Print is Moving
The library’s large print book section is growing out of it’s space and a gentle weeding process has begun. Come check out our Friends of the Library’s Book Sale and see if you’d like to add to your home collection or share with an avid reader. It is recommended to fill a bag for $1 or make a donation in any amount to The Friends. There is also a large selection of DVDs and books on CD in the sale.
The large print collection has swapped places with the DVDs. This will allow the large print more room to grow around and towards the fiction shelves. This shift will take time. I apologize for any confusion the change may cause.
Asahi Nordic Exercise is a routine of gentle stretching, balance, and wellness exercises based on a program originating in Finland. No special equipment is needed, and you work at your own pace. This program is offered weekly at the Mellen Library & Senior Center Wednesday afternoons through the month of March at 4pm. The Friends of the Library have paid gas mileage for our instructor. A recommendation of $8 a session for the instructor’s time and expertise is suggested. You may call the library 715-274-8331 to register.
Wisconsin Tax forms are available in the lobby of the Mellen Library & Senior Center.
February is Library Lovers’ Month. Our Northern Waters Library Network (NWLN) is encouraging library patrons to share why they love their library. You may share your ‘library love story’ on paper, love letter style or online here: https://forms.gle/uFNwJ1SdnW26LTv49 Those willing to share online will automatically be entered into a drawing to win a $50 Visa gift card. Those stopping by the library to fill out paper copies will receive a Hershey’s kiss and a chance to win a box of chocolates from Gabriele’s German Cookies and Chocolates. These stories will remind us why libraries are vital to our community. We hope to read your story and share it at the library.
Thank you to Kay Reader for sharing your card making supplies with us! Several students stopped by to enjoy making a card or two to share. Each one is sure to have brightened someone’s day.
