Curbside Pickup Service Continues 9/9/2020

September is Library Card Signup Month!  You may register for a temporary card online here:  Follow the instructions and enjoy your new adventures in reading.  You may borrow books through the Merlin catalog from any of our Northern Waters Library Service libraries in addition to the Mellen collection.  You may also use your card to borrow ebooks and audiobooks from OverDrive as well as gain access to Gale Courses.  View our Mellen library’s website at: to find links to these sources.
We will continue our Curbside Pickup visits through the month of September.  Place holds online with your library card (If you need your card number call the library, 715-274-8331.)  Or call the library to have a library staff member place a hold for you, please do leave a message.  You will be contacted when your materials are ready for pickup.  We’ll set up a pickup appointment, Monday-Friday, noon-5 PM.
Some of you may have received a phone, email or text message about your books, DVDs, or magazines being overdue.  I’ve gotten a few of those myself.  Once your library materials are returned in the book drop, the book drop is emptied into a bin and quarantined for 4 days before being checked in.  You may renew items online or call to have them renewed if you wish.  But this is not necessary, as once your materials are checked in your record will reflect the update.  And as always there are no overdue fines.
While the library is not open for visits, we’re still busy.  This week I have a new box of books to open, process and catalog.  I’ll also be moving on to cupboard storage cleanup:  supplies, crafts, and ???  Wish me luck!  Our front bushes are also in desperate need of a trim.  I’ll hope for a nice day to get outside and take care of this too.
Peace & Health to you and your families.
