Counting Birds 2/10/2021

The Great Backyard Bird Count, birdcount.org. is February 12th-15th.  The library has books to help you identify birds, build bird houses and feeders:  “Birds of Wisconsin” by Stan Tekiela, “Rustic Birdhouses and Feeders” by Colin McGhee, and “Birdhouses” by Mark Ramuz.
Wisconsin Water Week will be celebrated March 8th-12th.  Check out this site for more information:  https://fyi.extension.wisc.edu/lakesuperiorcollaborative/2020/12/18/wisconsin-water-week-2021/ This will be a virtual event with talks specific to Lake Superior on March 11th-12th by Dr. Nancy Langston.  The library has a variety of books about water and books specific to Lake Superior:  “Water Runs Through this Book” by Bo Flood, “Clean Water” by Elizabeth Thomas, and “Life in a Northern Town:  Cooking, Eating, and Other Adventures Along Lake Superior” by Mary Dougherty.  We also carry Lake Superior magazine.
Themed Book Bundles available for you to borrow:  Tired of Winter?  Here are stories that put you at the beach – “Sunset Beach” by Mary Kay Andrews, “Winter in Paradise” by Elin Hilderbrand and “Surfside Sisters” by Nancy Thayer; or books to get your home organized – “Get Organized Answer Book” by Jamie Novak, “New Minimalism” by Cary Fortin, and “Storage Style” by Lesley Porcelli.
