Come Meet Roscoe at the Library
We’ve added a snake to our outdoor display. His name is Roscoe. You are invited to add a painted rock to “grow” Roscoe. Tuesday mornings 10:30-noon, through August you may paint a rock to add to Roscoe here at the library or you may add one you’ve painted at home. Let’s see how long Roscoe gets before school starts.
Our library has hosted a book club since the fall of 2004. Our library now hosts two book clubs which meet September through May. One meets the 2nd Monday of the Month at 6pm and the other will meet on the third Wednesday at 9am. Monday, September 9th at 6pm we will discuss “Tom Lake” by Ann Patchett. Wednesday, September 18th we will discuss “At the Edge of the Orchard” by Tracy Chevalier. Stop by or call the library 715-274-8331 and let us know if you’re interested in joining one of our book clubs. We borrow our books through the Northern Water Library Network of libraries, so there is no need to purchase books. There are books available for pick up at the library now for both of September’s book clubs, as well as bookmarks with the entire list of 2024-25 book club reads. Our list of books and book club dates may also be found on our library’s website,https://www.legionmemoriallibrary.org/
The last of our Summer Paintings will be The Art Serpa’s “That Sunset You Loved”. We will get together on Friday, August 23rd at 6pm at the library. The library has limited space for painting, so we ask that you call or stop by the library to let us know if you would like to join us. A supply list will be given once you’re registered. If you will be unable to attend, after registering, please let us know as soon as possible. Another painter may be on the wait list. We will continue to paint once a month. A list of paintings for the year ahead will be available soon. Happy painting!
The Library Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday, August 27th at 5:05pm.
Thursday, August 29th at 7pm the library will host a movie night. Join us for Argylle, a comedy featuring an author of spy novels whose books seem to be mimicking the actions of a real-life spy organization. Please bring a comfortable camp chair for viewing and any snacks or beverages you would like. The library will have popcorn available.
