The Friends of the Library added another feature to the library’s outdoor patio named “The Friends Place” with the help of local craftsman, James Huber of Huber Fabricating LLC.  A rail along the patio wall on the northwest corner.  It looks great.  Stop by and see for yourself.

The Friends of the Library will meet on Thursday, December 5th at 5pm. (UPDATE:  This meeting has been cancelled.)  Friends are wrapping up their year and looking forward to 2025.  If you are interested in becoming a member, please stop in at the library for a membership form or come to our next meeting on December 5th at 5pm.  January 9th at 5pm.

The library and the Mellen Lions Club will host Santa & Mrs. Claus on Saturday, November 30th at Legion Memorial Library from 10am-Noon.  Be sure to bring your cameras to take pictures.  Please encourage your children to write a letter, a wish list or just to draw a picture to share with Santa.  Each child will receive a book.  Children will also receive a free raffle ticket for a chance to win a bike, which will be drawn for at noon.  Please encourage your family, friends and neighbors to stop by with their youngsters and visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus.

Monday mornings in December we will be hosting movies.  Each starting at 10am.  You are welcome to bring a comfortable chair, snacks and a beverage.   Enjoy an old movie with friends.  Bring a craft to work on or try one of the library’s recycled book projects.  The schedule is as follows:  2nd “White Christmas”, 9th “A Christmas Carol”, 16th “It’s a Wonderful Life”, 23rd “Elf”, and the 30th “Wild Robot”.

On the first three Wednesday afternoons in December at 1pm we will be demonstrating recycled book crafts.  The schedule is as follows:  4th Recycled Book Trees, 11th Recycled Book Angels, and the 18th Recycled Book Garland.  Please bring a stapler if you have one for the recycle garland project.

The library will be closed on Thursday & Friday, November 28 & 29.
