2025 Reading Challenge

Book Lovers at the Library

Tire tracks make two hearts at the library

I was thinking of setting a reading goal for myself in 2025.  I did some research and found a variety of ideas to help me do just that.  Maybe you can join me by setting your own reading goal for 2025. Here are some ideas to help us get started:  Set a certain number of pages or a certain number of minutes/hours to read each day; another idea is to read a book a week or one or two books a month.  There were ideas to get me to think about choosing my next book in a unique way.  For instance, choosing a book from the year I was born, graduated, or turned 25.  Another was to read different genres.  There are dozens to choose from historical fiction, contemporary fiction, memoirs, thrillers, …  Or you could challenge yourself to read along with an established book club’s title selections.  The library has both their book club lists posted on their website.  Oprah’s Book Club, Good Morning America Book Club, Read with Jenna Book Club, or the Reese Witherspoon Book Club all have their own reading lists.  There are any number of challenge lists out there online and we’ll have a few to choose from printed out at the library. Find one you’d like to work through or create your own.  Share how it’s going throughout the year ahead. Happy reading!

Monday mornings in December we will be hosting movies.  Each starting at 10am.  You are welcome to bring a comfortable chair, snacks and a beverage.  The library will provide popcorn.  Enjoy the movie with friends and family.  Bring a craft to work on or try one of the library’s recycled book projects.  The schedule is as follows: On December 23rd “Elf” will be shown and on the 30th “Wild Robot”.

December’s Take & Make craft is ready for you to pick up.

Acrylic painters will be meeting on December 27th to follow along online with Michelle the Painter to create a “Christmas Gnome”.  Due to our limited space, we encourage you to register by stopping at or calling the library.  You’ll then receive a supply list for December’s painting.

The library will be closed on December 24 and 25.  The library will also be closed on December 31 and January 1.

Stop by and pick up a nice stack of books and DVDs to carry you through the holidays ahead.

Hope to see you soon.
