Please take note and share that the Friends of the Library meeting and the evening movie have been changed to next week, Thursday, August 13.  The Friends will meet at 5pm with the movie to follow the meeting at about 6pm.  The movie this month is “You, Me and Tuscany”.  Also note that the Ashland County Elder Benefit Specialist will not be here in August.  She will be back on her regular day and time on September 14, 9am-Noon.

Summer Reading Challenge continues through August 31st.  Stop by the library sometime soon to join in the reading fun.  Weekly activities are out and available to complete here or at home.  This week you can make a pop-up Triceratops and/or create a dinosaur acrostic poem.  We’d love to share your poems in one of our future articles.  The Pteranodons are still ahead with 1921 reading points.  The Velociraptors have reached 741 reading points.

“The Friends Place Kaleidoscope” has its own Facebook page.  Check it out and add pictures you take.  Our outdoor space has outlets available to charge your phones.  Tables and for adults and kids.  Umbrellas for shade and a beautiful view of the Penokee Mountain Range.  Stop by for a visit with a friend.  First grab a refreshment from Little Town Coffee, Co., Northland Foods, Cenex, or Copper Ridge and then enjoy it at The Friends Place.

The Friends of the Library also have a used book sale available in the lobby.  A donation of $1 per bag of books or 25 cents per book is suggested.  Magazines are free.
