Bellringer T-shirt Announcement: To receive a 2026 Bellringer Run T-shirt you must have your race entry or paper form for the t-shirt only in by NOON on Friday, June 12th. This year’s shirt is white with a bell, runners, and fireworks. It also includes the phrase “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” in honor of our Nation’s 250-year celebration. Pictures of the run t-shirt design are on this year’s Bellringer Posters. You may also spot the design on the library’s and Mellen Bellringer’s Facebook pages. The Bellringer Run will be held on the 4th of July. It will consist of a 2-mile fun run which will start at 8:30am. Please be sure to use links for registration from the Legion Memorial Library’s website or Facebook page or “Mellen Bellringer” Facebook page. The link is pinned to the top of each Facebook page. Stop by the library and sign up for your Summer Reading Team. The Pteranodons (Kids) vs. The Velociraptors (Adults). Earning 50 reading points will earn you a medal. You may pick up a brochure with a variety of offerings for different age groups. Then register for those you wish to attend to help us plan. New this year is an Adult Storytime. One will be held each month based around a theme. June’s theme is “Gardening.” You do not need to attend the programs to be a part of Summer Reading. The only requirement is reading or listening while someone else reads to you. Monthly Take and Make craft projects will be available. Weekly “Unearth a Story” theme projects will also be available. Complete at the library or take home. Just an idea . . . Host your own family Summer Reading Challenge at home. Kids vs. Adults with a fun ‘prize’ at the end of Summer for the winners and special job duties for the losers. Winners get ice cream treats while the losers pull weeds in the garden before getting to have some ice cream. Just an idea. Let us know at the library if you take on this challenge at home. Of course, all reading points will also be counted at the library for your respective teams.
The Friends of the Library are hosting a 50/50 Raffle this year on the 4th of July. Buy your tickets at the Library or a Friend.

June 18th at 9am Summer Reading Fun for the Littles (Ages 5 and under) Will also be making a garden home for their adopted dinosaurs.
June 19th at 12:30pm Summer Reading for the Teens -Paint with Skye to create “Seaside Flip Flops”.

June 22nd at 6pm Summer Reading Book Club meets to discuss “Remarkable Creatures” by Tracy Chevalier
