“Unearth a Story” is this year’s Summer Reading theme. We will be hosting a reading challenge, kids vs. adults. Each team will need a mascot. Stop by the library and help choose a mascot for your team. Learn about the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, Velociraptor, Stegosaurus, Apatosaurus, and Pteranodon and then vote as to which one you would like to be this Summer’s mascot. The team mascots will be announced on Monday, June 1st. This is also the first day to record your reading points. Earning 50 reading points will get you a medal. Stay tuned for fun programming opportunities. Including weekly drop-in activities, Storytimes, Book Club and Painting Nights.
The Bellringer Run will be held on the 4th of July. It will consist of a 2-mile fun run which will start at 8:30am. $100 sponsorships are arriving, and the Friends of the Library are so thankful for your support. We have received sponsorships from: The Mellen Lions Club, The Kochel Family, O’Dovero Farms, Tom Lazorik Electric, Mountain Funeral Home, Kretzschmar Holsteins, Ashland County Housing Authority, The Reader Family, Northern Lights Electrical, Dusty’s Saloon, Tamarack Health, the Town of Morse, Fisher Sand & Gravel, North Country Lumber, Northern Highlights, The Mellen Rod & Gun Club, Wholly Threads, The Brick Helping Hands Food Shelf, and Columbia Forest Products. It is because of our generous sponsors that we are able to keep the cost of participation in the race low.
