Library Paint Nights

Scarecrow Gnome Paint Night with Michelle the Painter

Scarecrow Gnome Paint Night with Michelle the Painter

The library will host an acrylic paint night once a month at the Mellen Senior Center.  This venue allows for more space for our painters to spread out while also allowing for more painters.  Each month an online tutorial is chosen from a variety YouTube artists.  Then we ask for people to register and provide a supply list to those registering.  If you are not sure you want to pick up this hobby full time but would like to try it out, the library has supplies for you to do so.  This month we will be painting along with Michelle the Painter to create her “Scarecrow Gnome” on Friday, September 26th.  While watching the video we start and stop it to allow for our group to follow instructions.  Paint nights start at 6pm and last 2 ½ to 3 hours.  If you are unable to join us but would like to create at home, we invite you to share your work on our Facebook page, Legion Memorial Library.  I usually post our work within a day or two of paint night.  Please add your creation to ours.

Thursday, October 2nd will be our first Storytime at the library at 9am.  We will feature the book “Comin’ On Down to Storytime” by Rob Reid.  This book gives a nice overview of what Storytime will be like each week.  We play, sing, and read. Parents, grandparents, and caregivers participate and enjoy this time with their child.  We plan programs for 3-year-olds but welcome all children to participate as they and their caregivers are able. Programs last about an hour.  Call or stop by the library to register your child.  Registering helps us to prepare enough handouts and projects for each child.  Thank you so much for your consideration.

The Friends of the Library will meet on October 2nd at 5pm at the Library.  Time to plan for Halloween and invite Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus to visit.
