Friends Plan for 2025

January’s Take & Make Craft a Pinecone Owl
The Friends of the Library met last week and are looking forward to a new year of celebrating books, reading, and the library. The Bellringer 2 Mile Fun Run will be our featured fundraiser along with our raffle both held over Mellen’s 4th of July Celebration events. Our family fun Frog Jump will also be a part of the 4th festivities. We are looking into inviting authors, musicians, and speakers to visit throughout the year. And we are looking forward to utilizing our Friends Place for those events as we are able. The Friends will again sponsor Asahi Nordic Exercise -time & day announcement next week. If you’d like to become a member of the Friends of the Library stop by our next meeting on Thursday, February 6 at 5pm.
Coming soon: Storytime on Demand -Each week a theme will be chosen by Miss Jennie. A book, song, craft, and activity will be prepared for 3 yr. olds, to attend with their caregiver. Caregivers will need to call in advance to set up an appointment. Check in with your friends and family and come together if you wish. Pick the same time each week or change it up as needed. Miss Jennie will update her calendar month by month and accommodate your busy schedules. Stop by or call 715-274-8331 to let us know if you are interested in Storytime on Demand.
Our next Paint Night will be on Friday, January 24 at 6pm. We will be painting along with Angela Anderson to create “Funny Chicken”. We do ask that you register in advance, as our paint workspace is limited. You may register to attend by stopping by the library and signing up. Our paint nights at the library are free. We ask that you bring a canvas, some brushes, and a container for water to clean your brushes. The library has some brushes and paint you may use. The brushes and paint may not always match the demonstration we’re watching, but we can usually have colors pretty close to those used. This is a fun supportive group that enjoys our painting hobby.
This month’s Take & Make is a pinecone owl. Super cute! Maybe check out “The Owl Diaries” series by Rebecca Elliott with the craft.
