Thankful November
Thank you to the Mellen Beautification Committee for adding to our Fall Display. Many locals and visitors have stopped in the library and shared how great everything looks around town. Thank you to Kay Reader & Betty White for cleaning up The Friends Place as the seasons change. We are so thankful for your time and energy. Thank you to the City Crew, Matt Mesko & Russ Karow for returning the outdoor furniture and planters to storage. We’ll look forward to setting everything out again in Spring.
The Little Free Library at Gilman Park is always available for a book exchange. Betty White, our faithful volunteer caretaker, has noted that children’s board books are among the first books to find new homes. If you have board books you would like to pass along, consider helping us stock the Little Free Library.
There is a puzzle exchange at the library. Stop by and check out our selection. You are welcome to take one home with you to enjoy. We don’t need any more puzzles at this time but if you’d like to bring one and take one home with you, please do. That way our collection won’t run out of space, and you’ll help to keep the puzzle selection fresh.
Visit the library website, legionmemoriallibrary.org to view our paint night creations from The Art Sherpa’s “Fluffy Squirrel” tutorial. The paintings are also posted on the library Facebook page, Legion Memorial Library. The next paint night will be held on Friday, November 22 at 6pm. We will paint along with Michelle the Painter to create her “Geese Going South”. Call or stop by the library to sign up if you’d like to join the fun.
A new Take & Make craft is available at the library. This month it is a popsicle stick bear. Stop by the library to view our Autumn, November, Thanksgiving display of books to see what may interest you and pick up a craft project to complete. When I have grandkids visiting, I like to find a few picture books to enjoy with them and take a craft project home for each child to complete. So, grandparents, aunties & uncles who have visitors stopping by you too are welcome to bring your visitors to the library, check out books and take a craft home with you.
Those of you who helped add a painted rock to our outdoor snake, Roscoe, are invited to pick them up and take them home. Thank you for sharing your creations with us.
The Friends of the Library will postpone their November meeting until Thursday, November 14th at 5pm.
Hope to see you soon at the library.
