50th Annual Frog Jump

The 50th annual Frog Jump Competition sponsored by the Friends of the Mellen Library was a great event this year.  We had 82 participants with frogs, thank you for making it such a fun time.  The contestants who entered the winning frogs for the longest jump are 1st place – Briar Pierce 52.5 inches, 2nd place – Elsie Hultman 39 inches, and 3rd place – Evan Boley 37 inches.  The winners for the shortest jump are 1st place – Mack Hawkinson 1 inch, 2nd place – Kinsley Viet 3.5 inches, and 3rd place – Mason Zakovec 4 inches.  Winners again received fun medals donated by Chuck Hawkinson and cash prizes from the Friends.  A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers during the event, Mike, Peter, Kendra and Starr Thewis, Marcy Henry, Derek Heglund, Ken and Kay Reader, Cheryl and Mike Hamm, Jenny Eder and Larry Ericksen.  It was amazing to see so many eager contestants and all of their supporters.  We look forward to seeing you again next year! – Amber Ericksen
