2023 Friends of the Mellen Library’s Bellringer Run Registration is OPEN

Our library has installed new language software called Transparent Language Online.  It is available from our library’s website, legionmemoriallibrary.org  If you do not have internet access from home, you may visit this site and others from the library’s public computer stations.  You will need a library card to access online programs and to borrow materials from the library.  Stop by the library at 106 Iron Street with a form of identification and provide proof of your residence to receive a library card.  Library cards are free and open options to borrowing, books, dvds, audio CDs, and magazines and online borrowing, of eBooks, audiobooks, magazines through the Libby app.  There are additional online offerings from our library’s website.  Check it out.

The 2023 Annual Friends of the Library’s Bellringer Race registration is now open.  You may register online here: https://register.chronotrack.com/r/73226

Or you may pick up an already printed registration form from the library to fill out.  To receive a t-shirt, you must submit a registration form or t-shirt only form by Friday, June 9th at noon.  No more t-shirt orders will be taken after this date & time.  In addition, the T-shirt Design Contest is underway for the Bellringer.  Rules for the contest may be picked up at the library or found on our Facebook page, Legion Memorial Library, or our website, listed above.

There will not be a movie this week, but Thursday April 13 at 7 we’ll be showing, “Top Gun” with “Top Gun, Maverick” to follow on April 20 at 7 pm.  You are welcome to bring your own snacks, beverage, and camp chair if you wish.  The library will have popcorn.  This is a free event to enjoy with your friends and family at the library.

The Friends of the Library will meet on Monday, April 10th at 5 pm.  Please join us for updates on the Bellringer Race and our Summer Raffle.  What Kind of Book Club Is This?!?! will meet following the Friends meeting at 6 pm to discuss, “Raft of Stars” by Andrew J. Graff.

April 10-14 is going to be a busy week with the Friends meeting, Book Club, movie night and to round off our week, we’ll be offering a paint night on Friday the 14th at 6:30 pm.  We’ll be painting, “Magic Forrest Book Stairs” by the Art Sherpa.  If you wish to join us, please contact the library to register and receive a supply list.  Space is limited.

Please note the library will be closed this Friday, April 7 and open for business on Saturday, April 8, 9am-Noon.
