We’ve held two Summer Reading Programs for our 1st-5th Graders.  They’ll be taking a little break until after the 4th of July and meet next on Tuesday, July 11th.  Each session will include painting of some sort.  The first week the kids created geometric shapes on a canvas board with painter’s tape.  Then painted those shapes in bright colors. We hope to share pictures soon on our Facebook page, Legion Memorial Library, and website, legionmemoriallibrary.org  Additional dates for this age group are July 18th and 25th.

The library received a PBS Kids Grant and will host a program for 3–5-year-olds to attend with an adult caregiver next Wednesday, June 28th at 10 am featuring PBS’s Nature Cat.  We’ll be learning about plants.  Those a bit older & younger and welcome. Additional dates for this age group are July 12th, 19th, and 26th.

Remember Summer Reading is about reading. If you can’t attend any of our programming, stop by anytime we’re open, sign-up for Summer Reading and let us help you learn about our ‘reading points’ system. 25 points will get you an entry into a drawing for a $50 gift card to Barnes & Noble. No program attendance required.

Our collection box for The Brick is in place. Please consider donating.

Tweens & Teens are invited to sign-up at the library for an acrylic painting opportunity.  We’ll met at the library on Friday, June 30th at 12:30 pm to paint a “Rustic American Flag”.  All supplies will be provided, but do register in advance so we are prepared with enough canvases, brushes, etc.  Thanks.

The Library Board of Trustees will meet, Tuesday, June 27th at 5:30 pm with the Policy Committee meeting before at 4:30 pm.

Happy Summer Reading!
