Love My Library Winner 11/10/2021

September’s Library Card Sign-up Month for the whole of the Northern Waters Library Network offered a variety of activities to participate in.  And Mellen was represented in the ‘Why I Love My Library’ write in ​category. Marcy Henri shared, “I love my library because I would go broke buying books without it & we have an awesome librarian who knows the patrons and is always working for the good of all of them.” Marcy was one of nine randomly drawn for winners of a $50 gift for her participation. Congratulations, Marcy!  And thank you so much for your positive comment.  It continues to brighten our days as we focus on all we are thankful for this month.

Work continues on our outdoor gathering space.  We’re so excited about the possibilities this will open up for programming.  Our brainstorming continues as we begin planning for Summer Reading 2022.  We’ll keep you posted.

The morning book club will meet on the 17th at 9 am to discuss, “Painted Drum” by Louise Erdrich.  We welcome new members to join us.  Books are borrowed from other libraries through interlibrary loan, so there is no cost to membership. Just let us know of your interest and we will get a book for you to pickup at the library.

This month’s Take & Make project is available.  It’s a cute ‘I Am Thankful’ turkey project.  Stop by and check out our new children’s books and fall and Thanksgiving books on display.
