Lions & Santa & Books! Oh, My! 12/15/2021

Santa & Mrs. Claus were visitors at the library this past Saturday.  It was so nice to visit with them again this year.  Thank you to the Mellen Lions Club for inviting the jolly couple.  Santa & Mrs. Claus were good listeners and shared a blueberry, cherry, or peppermint candy cane with their visitors.  A nice and varied selection of books were donated by the Lions.  Each child could choose from the display and have a book to take home and keep for their very own. A drawing for a bike took place and Santa will be surprising one lucky child with a new bike sometime soon.
It was a beautiful sunny day for sharing the joy of the season with our community.  Thank you one and all for stopping by.  We hope to see you again soon at the library.
Anonymous Book Review:  If you enjoy well-written non-fiction, short accounts of varied personal adventures, like writing with and learning about cross country trucking, tog boating on rivers, engineering, one-and-a-half-mile coal trains, and so much more you will appreciate John McPhee’s books.
He also writes longer books about canoeing in Alaska, the geological formation of America, and more.  Try, “Patches” and “Uncommon Carriers” to start!
