The Friends of the Library rescheduled their meeting to Thursday, November 8th at 5 PM.  We welcome new members.  Come and join us as we plan for 2019.

Conversation & Crafts meets regularly on Thursday nights at 7 PM. Most often you will find us knitting or crocheting, but we have been known to tie a quilt, make sock snowmen, or paint on rocks.  In addition to our own projects, we like to donate our work to different organizations each year.  This year we will be making lap blankets for the Northwest Wisconsin Cancer Center of Memorial Medical Center.  This is once again in conjunction with the Senior Center Crafters, who meet on Thursday afternoons at 1 PM.  Lap blankets may be brought to the Mellen Library & Senior Center to be donated.  Grab your knitting needles, crochet hook, yarn and stop on by.  You are welcome to join us.

Monday Night Book Club will meet on November 12th at 6 PM to discuss, “Manhattan Beach” by Jennifer Egan.

Wednesday Afternoon Book Club will meet on November 14th at Noon to discuss, “Miller’s Valley” by Anna Quindlen.

The Friends of the Library will be hosting a Foreign Exchange Student Reception on Wednesday, November 14th at 6 PM.  Come join us in welcoming Mellen students Diego & Melih, and Father Papi to our community. Refreshments will be served.

New DVDs added, thanks to a donation from the Friends of Our Wonderful Library/FOWL:  Ant Man and the Wasp, Boundaries, Down a Dark Hall, Eighth Grade, Hostiles, Hotel Transylvania 3, Jurassic World:  Fallen Kingdom, Leave No Trace, Life of the Party, Mamma Mia Here We Go Again, Ocean’s 8, Skyscraper, Solo:  Star Wars Story, Tag, Three Identical Strangers, UFO, and Wonderstruck.
