Visit the StoryWalk 9/7/2022

The Friends of the library will host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for their outdoor space on September 24th at 9 am.  All are welcome to attend and enjoy this beautiful outdoor addition to our community.  This will be in conjunction with their Annual Fall Quilt Raffle. The quilt, “Winter Bouquet” was made by Carol Noth and is double-sided.  You may view it at the library or on the library’s website, under the News section.  Tickets are available from the library at $1 each.  A variety additional prize donations have been arriving at the library. These donations and ticket sales as well as sponsorship, participation, and all the volunteers are what made this beautiful new addition to our library possible.  Thank you.    
September is Library Card Sign-Up Month and Legion Memorial Library, in partnership with the other NWLN libraries, will host several activities, including entry into a raffle drawing for three different people to win a $50 gift card (one person in each of three categories) 1. New library cardholders (physical card) 2. New library cardholders (self-registered online) 3. Patrons who share their library story (  It’s quick & easy to get a card stop by the library with a picture ID with your current address or an your ID with a current piece of mail.
Visit our StoryWalk featuring the book, “The Dot” by Peter H. Reynolds.  Stop in the library and tell us how you liked the story and receive a frame to cut out and place around one of your own original creations.  Return your framed picture to the library for our art wall and receive a drawing entry for some “Dot” prizes.  Including watercolor paints & paper. Drawing will be held at our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
Both library book clubs are starting a fresh season.  Each club features a variety of books, both fiction & non-fiction.  Check our website, (above) or stop by the library to view titles for the 2022-23 season. New members are welcome!  First dates are the 12th at 6 pm and the 21st at 9 am.  Books may be picked up from the library if you wish to join one of the clubs.
An Acrylic Painting online tutorial is offered monthly.  On the 9th we’ll be painting along with The Art Sherpa, to create our own versions of her, “Sunflower Barn”. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Our storytime sessions will begin in October.  Until then you may be interested in starting a 1000 Books Before Kindergarten journey.  Visit the library or check out the website for more details. One bedtime story a night gets you to 1000 books before you know it.
