NWLS Collection Development Grant 3/16/2022

We are getting more and more requests for books in large print.  People share it’s due to age, tired eyes, ease of reading, and a welcome relief after a day on the computer.  Please let us know if you’re interested in large print materials.  We can place holds on titles available from any of our 29 NWLS library partners.  Thanks to a Collection Development Grant from Northern Waters Library Service, I was able to purchase the following books in large print – Booth by Karen Joy Fowler, Circus of Wonders by Elizabeth Macneal, The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn, The Finder of Forgotten Things by Sarah Loudin Thomas, French Braid by Anne Tyler, The Love of My Life by Rosie Walsh, Marion Lane and the Deadly Rose by T. A. Willberg, The Missing Piece by John T. Lescroart, Nine Lives by Peter Swanson, One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle, A Relative Murder by Jude Deveraux, A Safe House by Stuart Woods, The Shop on Royal Street by Karen White, The Tobacco Wives by Adele Myers, The Wedding Veil by Kristy Woodson Harvey, What Happened to the Bennetts by Lisa Scottoline, and What the Fireflies Knew by Kai Harris.
The Library will host Library School Storytime for an eight-week Thursday morning Spring session beginning April 7 at 9 am.  We plan programs for 3 year olds to attend with an adult caregiver.  Stop by or call (715-274-8331) the library to register your child.
Plans are underway for Summer Reading!  This year’s theme is, Oceans of Possibilities”.  Weekly programming events, reading challenges, a graphic novel club, book club, and painting nights are in the works.  We’re thinking about offering garden tours again.  Anyone want to share their garden?  Let us know at the library.
The Friends of the Library need Bellringer Run volunteers.  Please let us know if you can help.  We have a sign-up sheet at the library.
