DESCRIPTION:Stop by for cake & coffee during our open hours today and help us celebrate 97 years of service. \nLegion Memorial Library was established on March 12\, 1927 under the direction of American Legion Commander Alvin Rabbideau\, and returning WWI veterans; with a legacy from logger\, August Rohloff. The library was first housed in the  meeting room of the American Legion at Mellen’s City Hall. \nIn 1978\, the library was recognized as a legal municipal library to the State of Wisconsin. \nIn 2008\, the City of Mellen received a Community Development Block Grant to build a new facility to house the Senior Center and Library on the corner of Bennett & Iron. The library doors opened in their new space on Monday\, March 22\, 2010.

DESCRIPTION:The Monday night book club\, ‘What Kind of Book Club Is This?!?!’ meets the second Monday of the month at 6 pm for an hour.  The Morning Book Club meets the third Tuesday of the month at 9 am for an hour.  Most meetings will take place at the library or the library’s outdoor\, Friends Place.  Book Clubs hosted by the library borrow books for its members through inter-library loan.  Members are not expected to purchase books.  If  you’d like to join us please contact the library at 715-274-8331. \nBook Titles are listed here on our website under the drop down\, ‘FIND BOOKS’\, then click ‘BOOK CLUBS’.  You will be brought to a page that lists our titles for the year.  Click the book cover and you will be brought to The Catalog which will share more information about the book chosen. \nPaper book marks with the 2023-24 titles will be available August 14\, 2023.
