Come checkout our new flooring!
The library’s new flooring has been installed! The Friends of the Library took on this project with help from the Mellen Lions Club. Visit us and check it out.
“Thank you,” to our library staff, Cheryl Hamm & Lori Wiener for your help in preparing for the floor installation and moving process. A special “Thank you!” to Kay Reader, our Friends President, for leading the way with this project. Your positivity and kindness are always noted and appreciated. “Thank you,” to Kay & Ken Reader for the loan of the utility dolly and moving prep. “Thank you,” to my husband, Mike, and son, Peter, for putting in extra time over the past few weeks to help in the moving out and back in process. A cleaning crew of Kay & Ken Reader, Mike Thewis, and Tana Turonie helped kickoff our ‘Spring Cleaning’ that will be ongoing into January. The weather is helping to set the scene.
In conjunction with our ‘Spring Cleaning’ we need to make more room for our large print section which has outgrown its designated space. It means we’ll be moving some of our collections around and have a new layout as we move into the new year. It will take some time as shuffling books is no quick task. So please be patient with us. And we’ll be happy to help you navigate the new layout in process and when completed.
If you have a resolution to move more in 2024, join us at the library for Asahi Nordic Exercise. Naomi Kauppi will instruct this movement exercise on Wednesday afternoons 4-5pm. Signup at the library in person or call, 715-274-8331. We encourage participants to donate $8 per session which will be given to our instructor. The first session will be January 3rd and will run each Wednesday at 4pm through February 7th.
The Friends of the Library will meet on Thursday, January 4th at 5pm. Come join us as we plan for 2024. Following the Friends meeting at 6:30pm the library will host Movie Night with, “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”. Popcorn will be served. You are welcome to bring your own camp chairs and beverages.
January’s acrylic painting will be, “Pink Sky, Blue Sky” a seaside scene to add color to all the brown we’re seeing outdoors. The video tutorial is by Cinnamon Cooney, The Art Sherpa. We will get together Thursday, January 11th at 6pm. Please stop by or call the library to register as our space is limited.
Happy 2024!
