Calling all Readers . . . Share your Reading Points! 8/19/2020

The odds are in your favor this year . . . 50 Reading Points = A chance to win $50!  Summer Reading Cash Prizes are sponsored by the Friends of the Library.  $50, $25, and $15 x the three groups: 5th Grade & Under, 6th-12th Grade, and Adults.  The deadline for recording points is Monday, August 31st.  Points count when reading library books or books from home in any format.  Email, jenthewis@mellen.wislib.org or call, 715-274-8331 and leave a message; or write your titles and/or point totals on a piece of paper and place in the outdoor book drop.

Withdrawn library books will be “Free” on Saturday, August 22nd 9 AM-Noon.  If you touch it, you take it.  And if you chose not to take it, kindly place it in the Quarantine Bin for our next “Free Day” which will be Friday, August 28th 1-4.  Be alert to your health and do not visit this event if you have any symptoms of COVID-19.  Please do wear a mask and practice physical ‘social’ distancing of 6 feet.  Thank you!  In case of rain, this event will be canceled.

Any interest in forming an online video chat Book Club?  Call 715-274-8331 and let me know.  Include what video chat company/product you’re familiar with.  Book recommendations welcome as well.

The Library Board of Trustees will meet outdoors at the library on Tuesday, August 25th at 5:30 PM.  Bring your own camp chair and mask.  There are a few benches and a picnic table available for seating as well.  In case of inclement weather, the meeting will move indoors.  The Policy Committee will meet at 4:30 pm.
