Bellringer T-shirt Order Deadline: Noon, June 9th

The 2023 Summer Reading Challenge has begun.  All ages welcome!  Sign-up at the library, read 25 points worth of books and enter a drawing for a $50 Barnes & Noble gift certificate.

Friday, June 9th at 10 am Tweens & Teens (6th-12th Graders) will decorate a collection box for The Brick.  We invite library visitors to donate items to this collection box for the month of June.  Canned peaches, canned pears, canned fruit cocktail, canned pineapple, applesauce, and dried fruit, mac & cheese, quick or instant oatmeal, spaghetti noodles, Hamburger/Chicken/Tuna Helper, small boxes of pancake mix, small Bisquick, 1 lb. bags of white rice, Rice-a-Roni, boxed scalloped potatoes, canned tuna, canned chicken, ravioli, Dinty Moore, canned baked beans, canned corn, caned green beans, canned carrots canned potatoes, stewed tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, soups: crm of mushroom, crm of chicken, tomato, hearty soup, (more items will be listed in next week’s Library News).  Thank you for supporting our young people in their community project.

The First Destination Book Club will be held Monday, June 12th at 6 pm.  We won’t be going far.  We’ll meet in The Friends Place to start our summer discussing, “Clock Dance” by Anne Tyler.

Miss Lori will be holding her first Summer Reading Program for 1st – 5th Grades on June 13th at 10 am.  All her programs will include painting, so please plan accordingly.  It would be helpful to us if you could register in advance.  Stop by or call the library (715-274-8331) to register.  The first is “Geometric Canvas Paintings”  We also invite caregivers of those in the younger grades to stay and help your youngster for the day.  Programs will last about an hour & a half, but Miss Lori will give you a better estimate for the day when you arrive.

If you are unable to attend programming, remember that the reading challenge & raffle only require you to visit the library during open hours and reading. Take & Makes by Miss Cheryl are also available.  During the month of June pick-up a clothespin butterfly project.

Thanks to The Art Sherpa for her lesson on painting, “The Three Sisters”.  You may view or results on our Facebook page, Legion Memorial Library or website, legionmemoriallibrary.org  Our next session is a free paint/Plein Air day.  Offered at 12:30 & 6:30 pm on Friday July 7th.  Bring your paint supplies, set up in The Friends Place and enjoy.

T-shirt Deadline:  Anyone wishing to receive a 2023 Bellringer Run T-shirt must register for the race by NOON this Friday, June 9th.  You may also order a t-shirt to support the library, the deadline is the same, NOON, Friday, June 9th.
